A reliable, skilled and experienced editorial professional

I have worked as a professional writer, editor and editorial project manager since graduating from the University of Reading in 2000. I was ostensibly studying Politics and International Relations, but I spent the majority of my time working on the student newspaper.

After university I joined Dr Foster Ltd, where I was a writer and researcher on the first Good Hospital Guide. I spent four years at the company, and was promoted twice.

My next role was at The Learning Clinic Ltd (now known as Vitalpac), a healthcare technology company. Here I wrote e-learning material for healthcare professionals and promotional material for the company's products.

I then moved to Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust, where I spent two and a half years as internal communications manager. While at the trust, I was nominated for a staff recognition award and asked to contribute to an Oxford University Press book on clinical governance. My chapter centred on how to create effective patient information literature.

After being invited back to The Learning Clinic, where I worked as editorial manager, I launched a freelance career in 2012. This has afforded me the opportunity to work with a wide range of healthcare clients, as well as to write and edit content about cycle sport – one of my main interests.

I am a full member of both the National Union of Journalists (London Freelance Branch) and the Medical Journalists' Association.

I live in south London but reluctantly cross the river to get to my office, which is situated on the northern bank of the Thames. In my spare time I'm a keen cinema goer; a video gamer; and a connoisseur of US television.
